Beaker

I thought it time to finally post an obituary for one of my favorite pets of all time: Beaker the Rat.

For those who knew him, will surely know he was one lucky bastard. First being salvaged from an unweened litter destined for the CO2 chamber, then surviving having his head stepped on (accidentally) and a 3 day drive in blizzard conditions halfway accross the country. But thats not the important part. This rat wanted to be a dog. He would come when you called his name, he liked beer (and TnT's) , and would happily fall asleep on your lap if you rubbed his head and ears. He was even #2 potty trained (okay, so he still liked to mark his territory, at least he kept the nugs in kitty-litter).

Alas, after 2+ years living in rat luxury, he had what appeared to be a really bad stroke and after 24 hours required euthanasia. He was honored with a cremation/funeral via 2-foot tall funeral pyre on the beaches of cape lookout, tillamook oregon. Two heineken (his favorite beer) served as the ceremonial drink.
May he rest in peace.
